About the event
On May 3rd, Stoke Youth Network will be hosting the 3rd Annual Youth Access Fund Volleyball Tournament (for ages 15+). There will be a $20 per person registration fee and all proceeds will go to the Youth Access Fund, which provides financial support for youth from low income families to participate in sports, recreation, arts or cultural activities of their choice.
Originally put together by a local youth, this tournament is a fun way to get our community together for a good cause and play a series of volleyball games. Teams are encouraged to pick a theme for their team - colors, characters, you name it and we welcome it. Don’t have a team? Don’t worry! Sign up and join a singles team. All registered teams need a minimum of 6 players, and must have at least two females on the court at all times. Teams are also asked to provide 1 scorekeeper. The net heights will be set at junior boy's height and all matches will be best 2 out of 3.
We are looking for referees, scorekeepers and linesmen to volunteer for the event.
The tournament will be held roughly from 9am-5pm on Saturday May 3rd at Revelstoke Secondary School gymnasium. The schedule will depend on the number of teams registered and will be sent out via email the week of the tournament.
Registration fees will be collected at the door in the form of cash, cheque or E- transfer.
